Flowers at home - the reality

Like all florists, Jane from small but charming is always being asked about the flowers she has at home.

and so began the Flowers at home Monday, where we too would show off our floral delights.

My florals are not delights, they are dead, except the moss.

I'm exactly the same! Dried flowers I can cope with, but I have various pots of dead plants, herbs and dreary looking bunches of flowers at home. Why is it so easy to forget to look after them?!

Oh dear... those poor paperwhites... I have to keep my flowers very visible, otherwise they die a painful death... mind you, they run the risk of being visible to the kiddies...

That's a familiar sight, it takes me weeks to get round to throwing out flowers at home!

I like the red ones. I can't really talk or criticise.

I (gasp confession) still have my Christmas tree. It came planted and small and I decided to try and keep it alive because the smell was nice. I thought if I left it until Easter I could put eggs on it. It currently has some hearts on it but I think it's on it's way out. I've not watered the pot so it's drying out and starting to drop. The ice artic conditions of my flat have helped it live this long.

I have no other news. I have achieved nothing today. In exercise terms or in a professional capacity.

I would go to the gym tomorrow but I can't because I have a 'personal appointment' (according to my work diary). You and I both know what I'm really going to be doing. #big fat gypsy wedding and cereal from the box.

Loved this post and your blog, you are fabulous!

My husband calls my home offerings "leaves in pot"...orchids from days gone by!

It is the only place I get to see flowers fully ( slightly overly) develop as they go out so fresh as we buy to order. Its amazing to see all the shades that a fully blown ranunculus provides!

But you have orchid BUDS! Marvelous. And those red flowers are lovely. What's a distressed paperwhite among friends?

And, what a fun Monday!

they are still looking healthier than mine, the last flower floated away from my orchid a few days ago. The only living plant left for me to care for and I killed it good and proper.
