Calmer
I promise today's post will be calmer. I realise yesterday's was a little manic, too many links, too many private jokes....
Instead I bring you flowers, in a bath, in a old tin. Twee, and the information that i am trialing a new red lipstick that makes claims of being kiss and smudgeproof. I will make a full report next week. so far so good.
I will admit that after writing yesterday's post, I crashed and burned. My head slumped over the workbench, and the realisiation that I am no longer 24. Damn.
During this time a lady came in bearing a small box.She told me to look inside, cautiously i did. To find a pile of cards with my handwriting on them. They were the cards that accompanied all the bouquets of flowers her husband sends her, she keeps them all.
Happy Birthday, I love you, Thank you for our first child, that sort of thing.
I tried very hard to fight back a tear, because sometimes you forget the reason people send flowers, and how touched someone is to receive them.
I also noted that sometimes my handwriting is shockingly bad.

That is such a lovely story and so nice that she should bring them in to show you. Good luck with the new lippy!
I just have to say thank you Miss P as whatever the day brings a lovely end to the day is to read your posts with the woof. Lovely stories, culinary delights to make your mouth water and beautiful flowers. x

Kissproof eh? Well be sure to let us know...
Wow.And nice husband.
How sweet. Our elderly neighbor who I adore, invited me in to her home for the first time last weekend. We have lived here for a lot of years and have been very friendly with her and her husband but this was the first time I have ever seen the inside of their house. Anyhoo, she was excited to show me something, a desk that she had since she was 16. She wants me to have it. They have no children and are trying to clear out things in their house as they plan on moving somewhere more manageable this spring, again I digress...her giving me her cherished desk...to draw my cards on she said with a grin...warmed my heart but when she showed me an antique painted box that was filled with all the handmade cards and such I have given her over the past 8 years or so I cried. She saved every little thing. Amazing how people cherish things and in return make you cherish giving them even more. I bet your handwriting has improved, mine has!
Manic has always and still works well for me.
I too have bought a new red lipstick. My last one disappeared in the tsunami of sauvignon blanc which engulfed the last girlie lunch.
Your frequency of posts has inspired me to have a crack at increasing my own.
Lots of love from Jenny xx
