Mary Poppins

These buttonholes from yesterday's wedding are about the only thing i photographed this weekend. Roses and hellebores.

I am sitting in the shop, knee high in leaves, contemplating the tidying up. The Hound and I have just been taken out for lunch, so i can't complain.

It has been a busy 2 days, a good 2 days, lots of banter, late nights, and jam jars.

This morning one of my customers came to collect the flowers ordered by his daughter. It was early, I was tired, he was wearing his pilot uniform, in one swift move he fixed a DIY problem that has been bugging me for months. For some reason I blurted out the words

"Marry me"

I would just like apologise to him for this, and to his wife (i did the flowers) He was jolly nice about it, pretended not to hear. I obviously didn't actually mean it.

I am going to tidy up now.

Also ignore any rumours that The Hound actually did any work this weekend, he wasn't even here. He was off having boy time.

Not the cutesy post about small children and mothers i had intended, but sometimes life doesn't work out that way.

Also to the customer, who on hearing my tale offered to dress up as a fireman. See you soon.

I always think of florists when it's mothers day. I tried to make a Miss P inspired jam jar. Mistake. I'm going to have to come to a class and learn properly.

I say stupid things today. I was singing the Rihanna chorus to 'i maybe bad' etc etc only to find myself singing 'sex in the air' to my sixty year neighbour. My response 'it's not'. His response 'sorry dear'.

Oh dear.

Resisting the urge to make fireman hose jokes.
