To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells

With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.

Keats. obvs.

The Halloween (ish) window is going in. Painted pumpkins and gourds in grey, white and bronze.

In previous years we have gold leafed them, made a nutty professors lab with jars of rats, and created a woodland with mythical creatures.

Carved pumpkins don't last.

and I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If you are another florist who comes to my shop. Say hello, introduce yourself, rather than being stand-offish, trying to pretend to be a customer and lifting up all the things to see where I buy them.

Tomorrow, actual pictures of the shop and finished window with wide angled lens.

I love that you're so creative with your window displays.

I'm studying floristry and working for free at the moment, and you keep me inspired to keep going!

I DON'T LIKE THE LITTLE RUBBER RATS.

(Happy Halloween)

I love the little pumpkin woodland scene. Poetry is everywhere today.

And is it just me that thinks this, or do cut pumpkins start smelling absolutely disgusting after a few days?

Those black rats are properly unnerving! Bx

Well if that was me I'd introduce myself, flirt with the hound and then pick up a knife and get to work.

You forgot to mention 'and bring cake/ gin'

Apparently we should collect those little packets of silica gel you get in a new handbag/ shoes to put inside your carved pumpkin to keep it from going mouldy. Another excuse for a new purchase perhaps?
