If I lose the highs at least I'm spared the lows

Note to self: Stop getting emotionally attached to customers.

Yesterday I had a morning of tears, I had the honour of doing the funeral flowers for a marvellously glamorous lady, who was also one of my customers, and like a lot of my customers became a friend. A friend who would admonish me for not wearing heels, or having my finger nails painted

"Wear them now whilst you can, because when you get to my age you can't" she would say.

Today, I am starting a wedding for a bride who has also become a friend, and doubtless i shall cry when i see her in her dress. I really need to toughen up. This is another thing that nobody tells you when you open a flower shop, it's all hatches, matches and dispatches.

Thank goodness for Lancome Hypnose drama mascara, it isn't waterproof, but it is tearproof.

Whatever happened to Will Young?

I was having a rubbish day and those flowers have cheered me up. Infact popping into the shop on Saturday cheered me up too but didn't want to say was blog stalker so left after having a mooch and a sniff. I fell in love with the pink display and am usually not a fan of pink.

I think Will Young is still around. Gareth Gates is not though. I was always team Will.

I have cried today and would not recomment Dior blackout. It won't wash off my cheeks and I look ridiculous.

I have cried twice today.....once when a recently bereaved Mum of one of my brides ordered birthday flowers for her daughter. And then again, when the bride came into the shop to collect the funeral flowers for her dad.
I remember hesitating before putting the non waterproof mascara on int he early hours this morning.....gut feeling is always right.

Will Young - currently singing with Groove Armada.
Gareth Gates - currently rehearsing for panto season (I'm guessing)....certainly know who'd I'd have for dinner....especially if Groove Armada came along with him...yum!
No more tears today eh? xx

Ahhh Miss P. Is that a hint for cake? Any requests? I'm actually in a cupcake decorated with jelly tots (sweet of the fortnight) phase. The hummingbird receipe.
Currently shopping for the (d)ingredients for Sophie's Thai soup. Since leaving London I'm on the hunt for decent Thai. I wasn't impressed by her mutterings on chicken soup when she's a vegetarian.
Next time I come home I shall pop by with cakes for a mooch and a sniff.
P.S I thought your emporium was beautiful.

Becca, cake is not mandatory, but it might score you a cup of tea. The Hound reminded me that Mrs b also brought pig's ears, and they are mandatory. I thought the thai soup looked good too.

Kelly, another baby from our year!, pass on my regards to her. I met Minnie today, Helen was in stamford and passed by the shop.

planning a monday to come over and see you soon

I never wear mascara, but a bit of pencil around the eyes and ,yes, I have smudged that at work too. I can't always bring the Lab to work but my heart always makes the trip, dammit! ( Any lilacs yet?)

I know that Will Young is appearing in a series of summer concerts in July, but that is only because I am a huge Russell Watson fan and he is appearing in the same place too.

I would just like to say how much i enjoy reading your blog it brightens up the dull moments of the day, and of course always help Watson reads the hounds. He feels he has finally found someone who understands him!
